We empower educators to design and launch schools from single-classroom microschools to larger Charter or private schools. We offer assistance with comprehensive planning from initial envisioning, evaluation, and articulation of philosophy and mission, to opening the doors and day-to-day operations. While the primary mission of the school is education, it is also a business that requires business expertise such as student/staff recruitment, facility, finance, and marketing. Hearthaven provides comprehensive guidance to school founders and boards as they launch and grow.
Individual Student Support Pathway
We create personalized learning pathways designed to enrich—or thoughtfully replace—traditional curriculum for students. Each pathway is co-designed for the student to deepen self-awareness and explore customized learning experiences that align with their interests, values, and goals. Through one-on-one guidance and a holistic, student-centered approach, we help learners develop the clarity, confidence, and capacity to make meaningful decisions and move forward with more purpose for their lives.
HeartWork course to enhance junior or senior year
This course is designed to help each student dig more deeply into their understanding of self—exploring values, strengths, challenges, and aspirations. Through reflective practices, meaningful dialogue, creative expression, and guided mentorship, students develop the inner clarity and emotional intelligence needed to make grounded, holistic decisions about their future. Whether preparing for college, a launch year, or another next step, our HeartWork course supports students in building the confidence, discernment, and self-awareness to move forward with purpose and integrity.
Launch year to set the stage for a purposeful next chapter after high school
This year or semester can be whatever is imagined—an intentional pause, a time of exploration, or a deep dive into real-world experiences. With built-in mentorship, community engagement, and personalized guidance, launch year students will explore emerging interests, develop core competencies, and cultivate a deeper sense of self. Whether working on passion projects, interning with local organizations, traveling with purpose, or simply learning how to live more intentionally, a launch year becomes a living curriculum—one that helps students clarify values, strengthen decision-making, and move forward with greater purpose and direction.
Executive leadership coaching with Joy Warner
Personalized coaching for school leadership teams and school boards using a think tank model designed to address the specific challenges school leaders are facing in the day to day operations of their schools. The approach is focused on both addressing the current challenges in the moment while also strategically and proactively planning for the school’s future. Leaders will walk away from each session with ideas they can implement and execute immediately.
Year-long fully personalized high school curriculum
This approach is a great fit for students who have met most of their high school graduation requirements and would like to delve more deeply into specific interests or passion projects. HeartHaven will design and implement a dynamic curriculum and may utilize opportunities in conjunction with community colleges (with credits potentially fulfilling high school requirements as well as college credit) or with online course options. This option works well for homeschool students as well as traditional high school students.

We help students create individualized college essays that tell the unique story of who they are as a whole person beyond grades and test scores. Our holistic approach to college essay writing allows us to weave in HeartWork threads that support self-reflection, discernment, and decision-making.
